 Hi everyone,

Welcome back to the second part of the interclub season. It looks like we are in for some nice hot weather so remember to keep your hydration levels up whilst playing.

This part of the season is extremely busy with club champs and we are participating again in the nationwide membership drive “OPEN DAY “on Sunday Feb 14^th from 11-3pm. The courts will not be available on that day for casual play and club day is cancelled. Thanks to those who have distributed the flyers and posters.

The Glenfield Playcentre has been removed from its site and re located to Beach haven as their new Playcentre. The “bomb site” is currently being re- instated back to reserve. So the vista will be quite different.

The back courts have been inundated with fallen leaves so can I encourage the interclub teams playing there to come down a little earlier and tidy them up. There are rakes and brooms in the cupboard in the back room. The court groomer is there also if a proper job needs to be done. Taking the time to tidy the courts is also fair to your opposition as well. These back courts are becoming difficult to get an even bounce on with the raised lines and”dead patches”. The project to replace these, as I have stated before, will be expensive and difficult, due to underlying tree roots and water damage to the asphalt base so this will be a 5 year plan.

Once again our thanks Pauline Jenkins for publishing the latest club handbook. Some of us have had fun putting names to the front page characters!

Club champs reminder

Doubles Sunday March 7^th

Singles Sunday April 18^th

Finals day, closing day and prize giving will all be on Sunday April 25th

Please note we have made a minor change to the club champs policy regarding the singles. Next year all those who enter and are on the challenge ladder will be seeded as such and those not on the ladder will be drawn at random.

Midweek

Are holding a fun tournament on 18^th Feb with the theme being “WEAR A MASK” 9.30am start and please bring a plate to share. Midweek champs are on March 18^th with the following Thursday 25^th being the back up day.

Juniors

Started this weekend with their interclub underway as well.
